Spring break is here for us teachers, and time has FLOWN by!
Yesterday my dear Hubby and I decided that we were
sick and tired of this
drab purple carpet in our charismatic home….
So, we tore it up!
And at first we were thrilled…then two feet later….scared and excited at the same time!
We knew that our living room had once been two separate rooms, but we never thought that
they would have floored it that way too!
So, after much deciding, we continued on and threw out the old….
Why not?
He spent the late night sanding and polishing that baby up,
and I spent it crafting away for the craft show that is
THIS WEEKEND!
(EEK!)
Check out how to get yours on the products page!
Now we are back to the grindstone today
finishing it up so we can stain it…
our dilemma now is wether to two tone stain the separate areas, or
stain it all the same…
What to do?!
(ideas and opinions are WELCOME!)
Come back tomorrow for the Weekend Wind Up!
I really like the two tone stain! Seeing everyone making all these home improvements make me wanna work on our house!

Wow, you were so lucky to have wood floors under your carpet…I would be so excited to find that out. I think there are 2 thoughts here…1) leave it 2 toned because that would always give someone to talk about and then you can tell everyone that you left it that way b/c you are “different” (in a good way) from everyone else or 2) all the same for the basic reason…it will all match 🙂 I know that isn't alot of help but everyone has their own ideas about the way things should look.
Good luck with your craft fair.

Great wood floors. I think staining them depends on furniture placement. You might want to go with two tones if it helps define areas of the room. That would be a great look. Enjoy!

It's such a wonderful surprise when hardwood floors are underneath yucky carpet, even if they do need a little TLC ;-P
